yet another low end act from TV taking advantage of the crowd. Heard when he announced it, saw his show and said no way ever.

Not a fan of JW, but as for the food grew up eating catfish. Not my fave but it was a staple as a child from our pond.

Collard greens if cooked correctly are no different than other green, but mis cooked can be very bitter.

From a multi gen family who takes pride in secrecy of ingredients and a day to cook grits. It’s hard to find grits that I enjoy in a restaurant much less a food line

How is a supper club different from a restaurant?
Supper clubs focus on creating intimate and exclusive dining experiences, with limited seating, fixed menus, and a warm ambiance. On the other hand, restaurants cater to a larger clientele, offer a wide range of menu choices, and have more flexible operating hours.
What you want is a restaurant with entertainment, not a supper club and call first to see what entertainment they are offering.
I agree. Very similar to The Villages calling their restaurants "country clubs". They are restaurants, not country clubs.

Not sure why you needed to tell us this. Read the menu before attending and you will have no surprises

Not being southerners, we weren't interested in collard greens or grits and plain white rice was not appealing at all. My husband had some catfish and he said that it was dry and overcooked. As a vegetarian, there was nothing there for me to eat except a roll which is what I ended up having for dinner. I found it hard to believe that at a buffet there wasn't even a salad. I think that in order to appeal to the wide range of people who attend the supper club, the menu should be more generic: a salad, a vegetarian pasta dish, some sort of meat and potatoes. One other point: I was horrified that there were no tongs for picking up a roll from the bin. In the age of covid, there is no way that hundreds of hands should be touching food that others will be eating. For the price that we paid for the tickets, we expected a much better meal.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We were wondering how it was. We would have been unhappy about the lack of tongs on the buffet line too. Wouldn’t know about that even if we read the menu beforehand

You are also paying for the entertainment.

But it’s not just the food, there’s entertainment included. Also pretty much anyone living in The Villages can afford those prices.

Well, since the food was southern themed, did they also offer bourbon cocktails, sweet tea or mint juleps? That would have helped you wash down the collards and white rice!

What does that mean and why do some people think that comment is in poor taste?

Yes, is everyone supposed to know what "Royal" means? I don't.
