CONGRATS to the entertainment department for the outstainding show put on at Spanish Springs. Rocky, Hula, Twirlers, Cloggers etc were all outstanding. POOR SNOWBIRDS....... don't know what they're missing !!

Just got back from watching a half hour fireworks show on the shore of the largest lake in California. At the end of the fireworks, without prompting from anyone, the crowd started singing God Bless America. Impressive!

93 degrees today with dewpoint of 47.

Good post ALN - 4th of July isn't just about Fireworks. Some people look for what they don't have (the fireworks in this case) and forget to focus on what is available.

I was at Sumter Landing for a bit last evening and I'd like to echo aln's comments. The Rec Dept once again did a superb job in putting on such an event. We didn't have Rocky but we did have Radio Flyer and the Greg Hayworth Duo and they were superb. The twirlers, the drill team, the stilt folks, the clowns --- all great. And so many people having so much fun. And it was all free. Thanx TV.

Entertainment was great at LSL..but I was surprized at the smaller than expected crowds....or did I just arrive at the wrong time. The Town square area in the front was crowded but you could easily walk on the streets, tables were vacant, the tent by the lake was practically empty at 7:30.
I walked into Flat Bread and they had vacant tables and the outdoor bars at Flat Bread and Red Sauce had moderate crowds.
