Having the only snow blower in the cul de sac, I really do not miss winter.

I went back to Colorado two weeks ago, to meet the movers, who loaded up my stuff in a moving truck. The movers were slipping and having to navigate ice and snow as they loaded truck - was a fitting farewell to Colorado, as I then caught a plane and within 12 hours was in shorts in my beautiful new home.

Home sick and homesick are two totally different things.

I was thinking there was some type of virus running through the Villages.

I am currently up north. It snow the last 18 hours but most has melted. We are actually having a somewhat warm winter in New England. Many lakes don’t even have ice yet.

Heading south Jan 29.

Called my brother who lives in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago. He had just gotten in from snowblowing his driveway to make room for the new snow that was expected that night. I told him I was contemplating mowing my lawn. He responded with an obscene piece of advice that would never make it past the Thought Police.

Back in the day I loved winter, but that "day" was 50 or more years ago and the bad parts of the memories do fade with time. Truth of the matter is that winters in northern Minnesota were HARD. Heating with wood, vehicles that wouldn't start unless plugged in for several hours (remember block heaters?), Roads not plowed for three days following a snowstorm, mornings of -40 degrees and even lower, ice on the inside of windows of your home, etc. etc. I may have loved it then but could never do it now.

Nope. MUCH prefer palm trees and heated swimming pools.

The ONLY snow I want to see is on a Christmas card.
My comfort zone is limited to temps between 70 to 90.

As a former skier I love snow, I'll probably never ski again but I can get the idea viewing the live cam at what was one of our favorite places to ski Sunday River Maine.

I love snow except for driving in it, walking in it or shoveling it, so I guess I'll stay here.

We can almost time the bleating every winter from all the old people how they can’t handle the snow anymore. I guess it was really means we would all rather be young again when we could handle any snow that came our way and life was exciting. Father Time is worse than any snowstorm I’ve seen.

Love snow, shoveling 2am sometimes with rare lighting and thunder. The sparkling when the sun first comes up. I hate when snow is no longer pristine, slushy, and the county snowplow puts more snow back in your drive. Not a fan when temperatures are above 80. Heat has never been my friend

Thunder snow.. it is remarkable and sometimes brings a remarkable storm with it.
