I think you are gonna be disappointed.

l. The Light House. Good but not Boston.

2. If Near by means an hour, New Smyrna Beach, Shark capital of the world.

3. I don't know if we have a quilt shop but we have a BUNCH of wonderful quilters, quilt groups and even quilting shows.

We have a lot of other wonderful stuff.

Best seafood. Lighthouse seafood, cook your self however you want it.

Best beach. Clearwater about 90 minutes.

Best quilt shop. I don't know. I see a lot of beautiful quilts at the quilt show.

1. Good luck on the seafood....I have yet to discover one unless you're good to go with regular menu items regardless of seasonal local catch

2. New Smyrna Beach...about 90 minutes away. Easy beach access with never an issue of parking (cause your on the beach) and no hassle of carrying beach chairs, umbrellas, etc...open hatch and set up "camp"

3. Not a quilt shop to found in The Villages

There are three quilt shops in or near TV. In the Villages is The Sewing Studio in the same shopping center as Belks. Nice shop with about 1500 bolts of fabric. They sell Baby Lock machines.
In Wildwood is Sharkeys. They have about 3000 bolts of fabric and sell Bother machines. Soon they will have Berninas.
In Lady Lake on 441 is the newest shop, Quilters Palette. She opened a couple of months ago and has about 400 bolts but is getting more. Hope this helps. The quilting community in the Villages is very active with about 1200 guild members.

Default Quilt shop

And, if you do go to New Smyrna Beach, stop in Deland - I think it's called The Quilt Shop of Deland, on the main drag. Deland is a cute town anyway, can also take a look at the Stetson University campus while you are there, kind of neat.

As far as Seafood, I have not found one I personally like.
Florida Gulf Coast Beaches are the BEST, I prefer Long Boat Key and Venice Beach for finding Sharks teeth, but they are about 2 hours away
A Quilting Palette, 732 S Us Highway 441, Lady Lake, FL 32159, have not been there yet, it's new.

If you are from the east coast, you may find the Gulf beaches to be a bit of a disappointment from the wave standpoint, although the sand itself is gorgeous. Also, on the east coast, some places allow parking/driving on the beach. That means that a lot of the beach is taken up by cars either parked or driving, leaving not very much room for sunbathing if you want a clear ocean view. Cocoa and Flagler/Ormand do not allow driving or parking on the beach, and there are real waves. Not as big as northern beaches, but bigger than the Gulf. My opinion, from having grown up spending vacations on ocean beaches from Jersey to South Carolina and all states in between.
