Smile Old records

I have a bunch of 1930's 78 rpm records, mostly classical records, all in mint condition. Also have a bunch of 1960's 45 rpm records. Looking to get rid of them. Record stores in the area are not interested. Any suggestions? Thanks.

There is a guy who advertises in the wanted section of this site, he appears to be looking all the time.

78's are a tough to get rid of, everyone that enjoyed that music is now listening to harps. The 45's are like old stamps, some are worthless and other have some value but few and far between. We moved down here 7 years ago and I finally found someone that would come and take all of mine at no cost, saved me hauling them to a trash site.

Back in the day (about age ten as I recall) my brothers and I along with a couple of friends got into the attic of an old abandoned house a couple of miles away. Had to rig up a pretty shaky-looking ladder to do it. Anyway we found boxes of old 78 RPM records, all in their original jackets and some looking brand-new. I remember that they all had that dog picture listening to an old wind-up phonograph on the label.

Made great slingshot targets.

Do what I did in mid 60s with 78s flinging them like clay pigeons and shot them with my semi auto shot gun.

If you called out that dog's name today, somebody would take offense and sue you or call The Man on you.

If looking to give away, call local public schools to see if music teachers want them or if you don’t mind them being repurposed then art teachers. Also, maybe the asst living places or nursing homes to see if they want to play for residents music from their time.

Pass them to your heirs - they will be worth a lot of $ someday.

If any of the 45’s are Beatle records you may be able to sell them at the Beatlemaniacs meeting. They meet every Friday at 10 at Odel rec center.

Theyre not valuable now, decades later. They wont have much of a value in several more decades. Use them as frisbees

I have seen a sign somewhere along 470 that says "I buy records." I always chuckle and think "who has records?" I will see if the sign is still out there and send you the number.

I made bowls out of mine. They make great conversation pieces at a party.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ-s...l=JacquiJoseph

vinyl is making a come back but hard to get much money for them these days unless they are the ones that are in demand. digital music is where everything is these days so if you do get some cash for them it might not be much. Some people repurpose them for art.
good luck in your adventures
