Knee pain creme

I had good luck after knee surgery with a customized pain creme called Pensaid. This comes from a compound pharmacist and requires a prescription. Do you know just about anything you take by mouth can be made into a creme by a compound pharmacist?

While the creme works great for pain it is only temporary. I ended up getting 4 injections of stem cells directly into my knee joint s where it was hurting and it hurts no more!

Voltaren ( generic is Diclofenac & can be bought everywhere, but cheapest is Walmart’s brand) is an anti-inflammatory medication. This is the topical version of Motrin, Aleve, Ibuprofen meds. This definitely helps if inflammation is the problem. However, most people don’t read the instructions & don’t use enough & rub it in per the instructions. The trick is everyone reacts to topicals differently so it may or may not work for each individual. That being said, joint pain is tough but the rule of thumb in the medical community is ICE…Ice, Compression, Elevation. Good luck. This getting old sucks. 😉

It's R. I. C. E!
Rest, ice, compression, elevation.

I use horse liniment for people, you can purchase it at Spar on cr 44

Wife uses Corona Horse Liniment. Recommended by a nurse, it works better than prescription liniments for my wife with arthritis. It is available from farm supply store and Amazon for around $16 a bottle

There is no Voltarin in this stuff. It is Ben Gay stuff!

Voltaren is a topical NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug).
Methyl salicylate is also a topical NSAID. They are similar.

BenGay, IcyHot, BioFreeze are all menthol + camphor.

The product I recommended has both, which I mentioned in the post. RIF

Knee issues

My wife has a torn meniscus and she uses Real Time and it helps to get rid of the pain. Walmart has it. Good luck.

So if you found one that worked well that is what I am looking for, I will be going back to my doctor in a few weeks, so I do not need a doctor referral UNLESS this would be required for a specific creme (CBD based?)
Thank you for any information.

You can try Voltaren(R) (generic name diclofenac). It is a cream, formerly prescription only, now OTC. It is an NSAID class (like aspirin, Motrin, etc.) and is absorbable through the skin for local pain relief.

Voltaren was suggested by our orthopedic doctor.

Absorbine Jr. has worked for me. Plus I use knee braces when I play sports. Lot's of people with knee problems are over-weight. Not everyone, of course. But, if you are, losing weight would help.

My orthopedic doctor also suggested Voltaron, I bought it and then read the label and decided not to use it. It works internally.
Lots of good suggestions here, but I like Lidocaine. The roll on is the least messy to use.

I have heard that some of the CBD(?) based products work, but have no idea of getting or using these.
I appreciate the replies so far.

I have access to a fantastic CBD relief cream. I also recommend umbilical cord stem cell therapy instead of surgery. Contact me for info. Links here get deleted.

Are you certain your pain is only muscular? Many years ago I began having knee pain. What I am going to say I know is not what you asked for, BUT, a friend in the medical field told me I should take Glucosamine (1500 mg) / Chondroitin (1200mg) with, and this is a must, MSM included. I have been taking this for about 15 years now . I am active, playing tennis, etc. and have little to no knee pain. I have found that creams, balms, etc. do not work for me. Probably our conditions differ. For whatever it is worth, and I wish you well.

OP, this does work. My husband had severe hip pain about 20ish years ago. Whenever we walked in an area that was cemented (big department stores, etc.) I could hear the change in his walking, his foot would thud and I knew it was time to leave. He started taking Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. It took a while took work but eventually the pain went away completely. Before taking this the pain had lasted close to a year.

Not to compare you to a dog but my old hair dresser where we used to live had a dog (large breed 150 lbs. or so.) The dog had arthritis when it was 8 years old. The dog was no longer enjoying life at all. He was limping and didn't play anymore, didn't go for regular walks. My hair dresser started giving Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM and began moving a LOT better. He was back to himself again. After a couple years the hairdresser thought the dog was better and stopped giving him Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. Within a week the dog was back to limping again. So he began giving it to his dog again and the dog lived to be 15 which is very rare for such a large breed dog.

I once injured my shoulder and a neighbor had me try tiger palm. It worked great.

I successfully use DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) for most issues. It's a natural product, and before using it, I highly recommend reading a little booklet: "Healing with DMSO" by Amandha Vollmer. Both are available on Amazon.

DMSO is derived from wood and is a by-product of paper making. It is a powerful free radical scavenger and an effective anti-inflammatory agent. It also has pain-relieving, collagen-softening, and anti-inflammatory characteristics, making it an incredibly effective natural pain reliever. Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) is a colorless and transparent fluid that must be diluted before use.

Regarding CBD, I go to the "Pharm Stand" in Brownwood. I call it the CBD pharmacy. You can ask them questions, and it's a reputable company that I trust.

Good luck!

DMSO works best of all that my husband and I have tried. But do read up on it first. A couple important things to know if you do go this route 1) apply it with your hand or organic cotton balls. DMSO picks up whatever is on your skin. Make sure your skin is clean and chemical free before applying. If 30 minutes go by and you still feel pain apply again. I've never had to do it beyond the 30 minutes but have done it later in the day or the next day. Eventually the pain will subside completely, or it has for us. 2) Get it in a glass container not plastic. It's available on Amazon. 3) One downside to this is you can smell like garlic after applying it. I think the odor is better or worse depending on where it is applied.
