Default Outside decorations in Hadley

Does anyone know how you find out what outside decorations are allowed. i live in Hadley and have noticed a few pumpkin covers on the light posts in front of houses but nothing else. I always liked to put out a 4 foot high scarecrow for the fall season and was thinking of putting it out front but can't seem to find out what the restrictions are here. What about Christmas decorations and lights?? Any help would be appreciated.....Thanks!!

I haven't seen any restrictions on decorations for holidays except that they can only be out for 30 days. I really haven't seen that in writing - it's been word of mouth. Some people really go all out for the Christmas holidays and I have seen routes or addresses listed in the newspaper so you can ride around in your golfcart and look at them. You could always check with Deed Compliance.

I think mfp has hit it on the head!

Having been here for four Xmases, I have yet to see any excessive decorations, perhaps because folks are too busy playing to want to spend the time putting up stuff that's only going to have to come down in "a few days!"

A neighbor puts out a huge inflatable Santa, complete with a sound track ("Ho, ho, ho . . ."). I hate it but have no cause to fuss. There are many neighborhoods where there may be competitions over lights. There are others where an entire street has aomething the same. But, again, nothing excessive.

Angel, for Halloween, your scarecrow should be fine. Hold him up against your lamp post is probably best!

You should have no problems. We do Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We try to abide by the 30 day rule which is in writing in my deed restrictions in Section 2.14 which says that Lawn ornaments are prohibited, except for seasonal displays not exceeding a thirty (30) day duration.)

Me and the wife like to take cart rides and car rides around the different Villages during Halloween and Christmas to see the different decorations. Some are large, some are small, some are non-existent.

Go with it.
