Default Long term long enough?

I'm searching for owners who have rented their property and renters who have leased properties for one year unfurnished. Any thoughts or experiences as to whether a one year lease is reasonable or desirable for a tenant to go through the time, trouble or expense to move for that period of time? I wish to rent my property out for a year before I can move into it, but must first tend to other obligations.

Mine was a no brainer. Listed with VillagersHomes4Rent.com and rented for one year unfurnished. Couple that rented it asked for a second year but then decided to buy. Total time from closing to tenant moving in = 6 weeks. Second tenant moved in after 60 days of vacancy. Signed a two year lease. I have one more year after that until retirement.

You'll find there are renters who are quite happy with a year's lease. They know they want to buy here, just want to take their time looking or they want to see if TV is their cup of tea. The biggest concern is that they will move out early once they find their first "forever" home.

I have people contact us monthly about our property. Moving within the villages it easy. Our home has been rented long term since day after closing.

My home has been rented as a long term rental since 2012. I had my home built and it was rented a couple days after closing. The first renters were there almost a year and had to move for medical reasons. My property manager immediately found the second renters who moved back to Atlanta in May. I decided to take my home off the long term market so Mom and I can spend more time in TV.

Can I ask what the monthly rents look like - especially for a designer home? I am seeing like 1500-1800?

I'm not sure about a designer. We have a CYV.

Thanks for all your responses. You were the ones that I was hoping to hear from. In the past, you have also provided me with other useful advice that ties into this subject.
