![]() For years I fought the concept of alternatives to incandescent bulbs. As I watched my electric bill escalate (in Tampa) over the years, I gave in to my son's suggestion that I replace the large number of fluorescent bulbs in my kitchen/family room with new fixtures using LED bulbs. Being homebound, I keep them on all day. I also put LEDs in virtually all of my table lamps except for a couple that use 3-way bulbs. I've knocked a couple of hundred dollars off of my electric bill every month. Of course putting an LED bulb in your front yard lamp probably will make no noticeable difference in your electric bill, but at least you should feel better knowing that the LED bulb is costing next to nothing to run for the extra two hours.

Replacing the sensor may not work if your lamp post is shaded. I have noticed some of the neighbors come on earlier and later than ours, and it appears to be dependent on the direction the sensor is pointed and shading. IMHO, take a look at the general direction of your neighbors lamp ost sensors in relation to yours, and double check for any shading.
Hope this helps.
