Default Orlando tV vs Tampa TV

Perhaps I am the only one disappointed with the Orlando TV coverage.

it doesn't seem if they can spell Tallahassee much less cover it. Orlando coverage seems to be traffic back ups, local shootings and long weather.
Not important to villagers.

Tampa has football , baseball and seems to be aware that the State exists beyond the "attractions". They can spell Tallahassee. I am not a basketball fan.

If there is any interest, I will petition the State of Florida to at least give us a choice.

Thanks,
Ron

(Although I do agree with him. Plus he's cute.)

I don't know how cute Ron is, but I do agree with him about Orlando TV even though I like basketball.

I agree RItaly. Local Orlando tv is awful. Being from Columbus OH we are accustomed to state government news - definitely missing in Orlando.

I cannot watch the "local" news. I watch Al Jazeera America for unbiased intelligent coverage of what is happening in the world.

As you know, local commercial TV stations are primarily supported by "local" market advertisers. So what is the motivation for a local TV station give much coverage to "local" news from another market? It is like this throughout the US and this practice is the financial cornerstone of commercial broadcasting.

Orlando, Tampa and Tallahassee are all distinct and separate advertising markets.

That's why most local stations have "Network Content". They need to provide some programing time to sell multi/national market advertising.

With all that, we sure do miss "over-the-air" coverage of contending football teams.

We lived in Tampa and much prefer Tampa TV stations to Orlando. When we got Dish tried to get our local stations out of Tampa. They said it could not be done.

I was getting Tampa stations here in the villages with our Dish Network satellite dish, but lost them when we went with Century-Link Prism. Wish Century-Link had the option of going with Tampa coverage.
