Default lanai screen doors

was thinking of installing barrel locks to the center and upper cross posts of screen door to secure on high wind alert days. Many in TV has had issues with Milton regarding doors. Thoughts on weather this would cause more problems than it relieves?

Not sure what a 'barrel' lock is, but I have found that making sure the latch is properly adjusted makes a real big difference in keeping the screen doors closed in high wind. I would probably go with a simple hook-eye in stainless steel (if I could find one) to avoid rusting and locate it in the vicinity of the door handle. Also remember, if you install these types of additional locks and you are on the wrong side of the locked door you will not be able to get in or out.

a barrel lock is a sliding bolt that can slide into a drilled hole in frame housing. I agree, once latched, no access from the other side. The issue I see with hook-and-and I is the force of the wind can strip the eyebolt out of aluminum frame. My closer is bent to hell and needs replacement, looks like HD has the black Wright closers. Thank You for the input.

Default Cable Ties to secure lanai screen door

I saw a post on a Facebook group. Put a zip tie thru the latch and handle. It works great and easy to remove and keep the door closed.
