It's been 2 weeks since I ran out of liquid laundry detergent. Switched to laundry sheets work well tried both Earth Breeze and Earth Rescue both work equally well. Sheets are segmented to use half or whole.

I read not so long-ago that laundry detergent does very little in getting cloths clean.
It's the agitator action that's important that cleans the cloths.

Same as pounding cloths on rocks in the rivers.

Detergent just makes cloths smell better.

It's a combination of detergent, water, and agitation that clean the clothes.

I agree. I don't even use a detergent that has any perfume. But, the detergent softens the water which aids in cleaning the clothes.

I remember the first time my wife and I used a top loading washing machine in US.
Just could not believe the noise, or how any clothing could survive the agitation!
We were so used to our near silent front loading tumble type washers.
I also put 'Dish Washer' liquid in the Dish Washer.
The soap bubble overflow was a wonder to behold.
Same language, wrong interpretation.

I think you are referring to an older top loader. My top loading machine doesn't make very much noise at all, and not a lot of agitation.

My agitation occurs when I have to fold laundry.

We switched to the laundry pods a few years ago and our clothes have never been cleaner.

I'm a baseball/football mom so know a bit about laundry problems.

A big splash of vinegar will help freshen up sports clothes/uniforms.

Also a SMALL bit of Dawn dish soap (or spray) will bring up oil drips from pizza and other yummy foods that are messy.

Grass stains and rubbed in dirt:
White Brite
Oxy stick/spray
Zote bar

Whoever wrote that article has never taken Chemistry and did not do any research for that article. I recommend a great book called Chemistry in the Marketplace. It will explain all sorts of good stuff about the household products we use.

In a nutshell, dirt is hydrophobic and detergent aids in getting the dirt into solution and thus out of the clothes.

Now I am really old, think I am having another outbreak of it!

I’ve been using Earth Breeze for several years now, so much easier than hauling and using the liquid and clothes are just as clean!

Switching over to the sheets but will finish my regular detergent first. No more plastic.

We have been using clean sheets from Clean People for a couple of years. Order them online. We like them.
