Can anyone tell me if I need a permit from Sumter County Sheriffs Office for a monitored alarm system? Or do I have to notify them about my alarm system and the same question regarding The Villages Fire Dept because I have a monitored smoke detectors?

I called SCSO and they told me no permit was necessary.

It is not necessary to get permission to install an alarm system. If you use ADT I would recommend you buy from an ADT Corp person and and have a Corp ADT person install. It is a long story but a good suggestion.

I installed the Simplisafe wireless system. I called the Sumpter County Sheriff office and was told I do not need a permit for monitoring.
