Default Leaking solar heater for pool?

Anyone ever had this problem or know of someone who did? My pool cleaner was telling me a few weeks ago that they had two different customers at that time who were having that problem. I was wondering if it's a common occurrence?
She also told me that they used to recommend Jack's for solar pool heating but one of the customers with a leak called Jack's and they told her it would be 3 weeks before they could come take a look. Meanwhile her pool was half empty and she had to contact another company. That told me all I need to know about that Jack's. I guess I'll be looking elsewhere.

You are basing your decision on the advice of your pool cleaner? Who shared second hand information? Really?
Jack put in my solar and I had to call him once. Returned my call and came by the next day to respond to my need. I would recommend him for pool solar heating.

I haven't heard of any leak problems, but that doesn't mean much.

As for Jacks, what you've heard I haven't heard myself and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jack from personal experience as well as what I've heard over time.

We had Jack install our solar and they were here just yesterday to remove our solar panels in preparation for our roof replacement. That was within a few days of when our roofer notified him they were ready to do the roofing job.

At no time did I have any response delays like you've heard and that includes when recently we weren't getting heat into the pool like we expected. He responded within 24 hours or less on that occasion.

I'd take what you've heard about Jack with a grain of salt especially since the information you've heard was from an unknown source and that it seems to be 3rd hand knowledge or more! Besides, I don't see how a solar leak could possibly be cause for draining of the pool unless the pipe returning from the roof was totally disconnected or even more so if the pool had a self add when the water level gets low!

You also have to ask yourself... If this is true, why didn't the owner simply turn off the solar system (it can be done electronically or manually) and/or why didn't they simply add water manually before it got "half empty"?

Default Leaking Solar

A few months ago we noticed we seemed to be losing water from our pool with has solar that is several years old. We called Jack's Solar and he came out the next day and found a small leak on the solar panel on the roof that he was able to fix right away with material he had on hand and that solved the problem. The cost was minimal and fixed what we were afraid was a big problem. I would certainly give him a call to check to see if he is available.
