Default Lens Error problem on pocket camera.

Does anyone in The Villages service Nikon (Coolpix) pocket cameras? My camera keeps indicating LENS ERROR. I have tried inserting paper around lens to clean out any sand or whatever, used compressed air around lens, and used very little sewing machine oil around outside of lens. But had no luck fixing problem.

Henry,
I recently read an article online about different fixes for this....they had about 6 different things to do. For me, none of them worked. I use these all the time in my business and found I just buy the under $100 ones and replace them regularly. I go through about 3-4 a year because of lens errors....

Kayaker - I'm not feeling very good about what comes next.

Can you remove the batteries and let the camera's computer re-boot?
