Default Do you have critters hiding in BBQ grill cover?

How many of you have pulled the cover off your BBQ grill, only to find an unwanted critter under the cover.....Got a solution: We first bought new BBQ grill, then we went to Mattress store next to Cracker Barrel, and bought a heavy plastic mattress cover (various sizes that will accommodate sm-lg BBQ grills, ours cost $2 (twin))....The key here is the "clear" cover...Critters do not like the clear cover - thus problem solved....It didn't matter how diligent we were in cleaning BBQ, critters were relentless because they could hide under the black cover that came with the grill....Mattress store said that this is a common request for BBQ grills....I know, I know, you won't be coming to my cook-out!

Good to know, I hate to lift up that no see through grill cover. Never know what lurks there. On a good day here in rural Virginia it's not a snake or Black Widow.

I open the gill cover and beat on the side of the grill. They either scatter or become ashes.

They usually scatter.

So many frogs! How do they get into the lanai? Every day we find two or three dead little frogs. Yesterday I opened the slider to the lanai and a live one jumped onto my head. My husband was able to capture it and put it out. Fortunately, we haven't seen them in the grill yet.

My critters are mostly anoles - both in the lanai and in the grill.

Questions. What kind of critters lurk there?

What do you think that Frog was tryin' to do...?? I bet it was a prince and you know what THEY do.

George...you would cook them?

Would you eat them too?

A clear mattress cover seems like a large piece of plastic. OH. We have a very small grill.

Why does the plastic scare them away??

Again.. WHAT are THEY?

So far we haven't had any critters under our black grill cover. Our grill is on our covered lanai and the only critters I've seen so far are those little anoles who are only interested in scampering around the floor. The first time I see a critter under our grill cover I'll be headed over to the mattress store for a clear cover, for sure! Thanks for the heads up!

If the BBQ is in the Lanai why does it need a cover?

(maybe it is ugly?)
