Thank you for posting it.

Thank you to all of the men and women who have served this great country and for the many who have laid down their lives in the service.

I was only 2 months old but all my life I remember my mom and dad talking about the sadness of that day and how frightened they were about the attack. My mom would reflect on how the news came over the radio as she was cooking Sunday dinner and she became so numb, she couldn't complete it. They were newly married and realized how this would change their lives.

Dad was recruited a few months later but an unbelievable thing happened. His paperwork was lost in all the crazyness of the times and he wasn't called up until 1945 or 46. He was on a ship heading for Okinawa when the war was called over in Japan so his duty as an MP was to guard the prisoners. He always called himself extremely lucky to have escaped any action.

However, many of my uncles and older cousins served in Europe and saw a lot of action. One received a bronze star and we were so proud of him

God bless all the men, women and children who died in the attack.

I was born just 53 weeks before Pearl Harbor. None of my numerous male cousins were around for my 1st birthday party because they had all enlisted (5 in one family) Also my 45-yr-old uncle who had fought in World War 1. They all came home uninjured.

Japanese visitors account for more than 50 percent that come to pay homage at Pearl Harbor each year. They also flock to Darwin, Australia, that was bombed by the Japanese. This is out of respect for the USA and Australia. Yes, the USA has massive respect in other parts of the world!

These were one of the worst times in American History!!! The thought of all these veterans, and what they went through, so WE can have our Freedom today, is astonishing. My prayers are with all who sacrificed, and lost their lives, or who came home maimed, so we can today have the liberties of freedom. Good Ole American GI'S. Thank you so much!!!!!!

To the Greatest Generation and to ALL that have served a huge thank you.

My Dad served in W.W. II for over 5 years. My 3 brothers and I are all
Baby Boomers. I do remember my Dad talking about the war.

This country will never be the same without this Generation!
