Default Lightning Strike on 466A

I was driving to Publix this evening via 466A around 6:30 PM and ran across an area of the blvd where landscaping bushes, dirt, and pine straw were strewn over all 4 lanes of traffic going both ways. At first I was confused as to how this could be...thinking a car ran up there, vandalism, etc. Then it dawned on me...it had gotten hit by lightning!! There was, in fact, a hole in the dirt in the Blvd. WHOA...that is VERY scary indeed!!! Channel 9 said Central FL had over 15,000...that is Fifteen Thousand...lightning strikes in a 4 hour time span.

Exclamation Eeeks!

Yikes! That's way too close to home. Was it between Buena Vista and
Morse??? East or west side??? Someone mentioned firetrucks near Hadley also. This is really scary!!!

It was just before Morse heading eastbound. No fire there because way too wet, but I'm sure only lightning could have exploded all that landscaping across all 4 lanes both E and W bound.

Click this to read the post by the non-commercial Study Group on Lightning in
Contractors and Services. The group said it is "not affiliated with any firm or
organization that designs, installs or markets any product or service for the
lightning industry," and is intended "to help Villagers make informed decisions
of lightning protection."

Thank you very much Tony. I didnt see that post yesterday so I am very glad you posted it. I can handle just about anything, gators, love bugs etc., but lightening is very scarey!
My next door neighbor's house burned to the ground by lightening a few years ago and it was so sad, so I will definitely use that post when I buy my home in TV. Thanks again!
