There are a number of websites out there. Here is one, plug in your zip code. The short answer is 2:49 PM for the peak.

Also, we are in 80% coverage area as I recall, and unless you get a set of ISO rated glasses, PLEASE do NOT look at the eclipse.

NC & SC hotels are all booked--hope it doesn't rain or have heavy cloud cover-IMHO its akin to watching grass grow

I live in suburban Chicago which will get 86% of the sun blocked. Carbondale, IL, 350 miles south of me, is in the path of the total eclipse. Amtrak is running a special train from Chicago to Carbondale early the morning of the eclipse. Tickets sold out in less than one day.
The Amtrak Eclipse Express departs at 3 a.m. Aug. 21 from Chicago Union Station; the Champaign departure is 5:05 a.m. It will arrive in Carbondale at 8:30 a.m., giving travelers a chance to catch the eclipse in the afternoon, and will leave the station at 5:15 p.m. Each customer will receive free ISO-certified eclipse viewing glasses, courtesy of Amtrak and Carbondale Tourism. All aboard!

My employer is giving out free eclipse glasses to any employee who wants them. I will probably stay at my desk and keep working. I just want to see how dark it gets since Chicago will only experience a partial eclipse. The cities and towns located in the full eclipse path are really making $$ from this.
