When we moved here some 9 or so years ago, New Year's Eve was celebrated in Spanish Springs and it was a great night, if my memory serves me the evening broke up just after midnight.

Something happened to change all this, maybe we just got too big to accommodate all the people, or whatever ......... but it stopped and now, like most of our neighbors, we do New Years Eve with the TV. As another poster said, there are some good NY Eve parties at the Rec Centers.

City Fire has a nice New Year's Eve party. We did it 7 years in a row. You do have to make reservations though.

I think the German Club does a dress up dinner and dance at The Savannah Center. I hear it is very nice.

I don't want to dress up and drink too much anymore. I enjoyed it for many years, but now I enjoy being in my lovely home and hoping to watch that ball drop for another thirty, forty years.

But...OP, if you want to party and drink, there are lots of folks who want to do that too, here. Just not at the squares.
