fairly new to a golf cart. Was told that I could get non-ethanol gas for my cart at the 7-11 in colony plaza. Went there yesterday, tried two pumps, neither would allow me to select the 90 Octane non-ethanol gas.
So I assumed they were out? so other than there, and the Villages Golf Cart gas stations, where are other, cart-accessible locations to get non-ethanol gas? Running a bit low now... thanks in advance |

i don't have a cart, or use that type of gas, but i do know there is a wawa on 301 by 466 that has unleaded gasoline, like in the old days. someone told me this is the type you use in a golf cart. if not, i see carts filling up regularly over in Lake Deaton plaza @ marathon. good luck!

You may want to search posts for discussions on the need for non-ethanol gas. I used two tanks of it then switched to "regular" unleaded. I have had no problems in over 18 months of use.

The villages golf car garages at LSL and Brownwood
It costs more than ethanol blended fuel but will not have phase separation which occurs with long periods of storage. Not sure but I think octane is higher also. |

Not sure how close it is to you but we'll get gas at the Marathon in Lake Deaton Plaza when we head north. Look for the pumps on the east side with blue handled nozzles.

LateBoomer, our 2017 Yamaha has a sticker on the tank E10 gas, that is the regular 87 octane automotive gas. Save your self some money and use regular gas. Now there will be comments that if you are a snowbird and leave your cart unused for several weeks at a time that non ethanol gas is better, I have no opinion on this. My point is the newer (last 10 years?) golf carts are designed to run on fuel with ethanol.

You need non-alcohol gas?
My 2021 Yamaha just says to use unlead. There's a sticker on my 2010 that says no Methanol. Regular unlead gas has 10% ETHANOL, not Methanol. I assumed that regular unlead gas was OK. No? |

You don't need leaded non-ethanol gas for your cart. A looong time ago the ten percent ethanol gas used to have a negative effect on some o-rings and gaskets. That's a thing of the past and is no longer true. If you wish to spend more on gas have at it, but you are truly wasting your money from a purely scientific point of view. Quite similar to changing oil every 3000 to 5000 miles. With the advent of modern synthetic oils it's 10000 to 15000 miles between oil changes.

regular gas is fine, just use a treatment if you plan to let it sit for a few months.

This question is probably the most taked about ? on this site, except for questions about Costco.
Per owners manual cart needs regular gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol. You can get different opinions but would stick to the manufacturers recommendation. |

The Marathon gas station at Pinellas has 2 pumps that have recreational fuel which is code for ethanol-free gas. They have blue handles and on those pumps, which replaces the diesel fuel pumps.
