Default Looking for golf partners in January thru March

I will be renting on Rainbow Boulevard off #5 fairway of Silver Lake golf course in January-March, 2015. My ladyfriend doesn't play golf, but I do.

I want to play the executive courses but I prefer to play off the back tees. That's still an average of 200 yards per hole, I believe.

Top preference given to WVU fans because we can talk Mountaineer sports between shots. Or people who lives in West Virginia.

Or those who live near Akron, Ohio.

I guess I'm proof that beggars CAN be choosers.

Actually, I'm not that particular, but it's nice to meet someone from your home state or who went to WVU or lived in Northeast Ohio.

Call me at (330) 388-4466 if you're interested. I'm 82, but I don't act like it, which probably is why I'll fit in in The Villages.

Fore!

Just talked to you on the phone. As soon as you are in and settled give us a call. Daughter and grands will be here from second to seventh. Tell Paula she can ride with me and Helene in our four seater.

Paula, who already has 3 gigs scheduled in January with the New Horizons Band (she plays flute), may be elsewhere because she also is a painter and has us lined up for Shoebox volunteer work.

Paula is a retired psychologist who spent 25 years in California so Florida weather will be like a homecoming for her. She's a renaissance woman so the 2,200+ clubs in The Villages probably will get her attention.

Anyone else interested in joining me on the golf course? Paula doesn't play (back problems).

By the way, after 43 years as a newspaper reporter, sportswriter and editor in West Virginia, Ohio and Florida, I couldn't kick the habit despite my 1996 retirement from the Akron Beacon Journal. So I run two blogs -- BJ Alums for Beacon Journal retirees and another for my fellow Monongah High School (in West Virginia) graduates, which you can check out by going to jo4wvu.blogspot.com
