If you are really into Africian Violets, the place to go is Peacock Cottage,3243 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala.

It is a speciality shop that has small plants. Very friendly and a cute place.

I had some Violets that were 10 years old. They replanted them and wow! They are healthy and blooming like crazy.

It is a distance up there, but interesting place. You can always go to lunch at The Blooming Onion, which is close and make a day of it.

Be sure to read how to care for them. They need what they need and want what they want otherwise they will limp a long and or die. Our hard water is no good for them. You will need distilled water or captured rain water. Under good conditions they grow quickly. Most are propagated from existing plants. They,you select one you like, cut off a leaf dip it in rooting hormone, let it heal for a day or three and stick the stem part into sterile potting mix. It will root and produce one or many plants.
