Default Rental Info

As many of you know, the wife and I just bought in Bonita. Talking with my parents they want to come down to TV in Jan/Feb time frame and stay for a month. All my research so far has been on purchasing, now I need to know rental stuff. Like what is the cost for a month rental in peak season? They would want a 2/2, and in the newer Southern Area near us. What is the lead time for the rental? Who/how do you rent from?
Thanks.

Army Guy

Look in this forum, look in The Daily Sun, talk to some agents, and most importantly talk to others who have rented. The possibilities are endless BUT the experiences go from The Greatest to The Worst. Best advice, deal with a reputable rental agent, get references and check them out. There have been some major problems with property rental agencies in TV recently (i.e. First Village Rentals went out of business suddenly, owening lots of money) and they had been in business for a number of years. Be careful, plan (I know you are a planner) and it will lead to a wonderful experience for your parents. While you are planning, consider a golf cart rental and/or car rental for them also as part of your/their expenses.

check this site. www.thevillages4rent.com Lots of good properties there. But you may be a little late for next Jan/Feb.

You can also try the Villages Property Management. They rent by the month. They used to charge around $3K per month in the high season for my house, a Gardenia (2/2/den). All of the furnishings need to meet standards, and there are folks who are assigned to the house to assist should you need anything. May not be the cheapest way to go, but if you're laying out cash up front you probably want to be sure they will be there.
I don;t know about availability for that time though.
You can get their number off TV website. Dial the main number and ask for Porperty Management.

I know of a lovely home in the Village of Caroline that the owners would rent out in Jan or Feb and it includes a golf cart. It is a 2b/2b and is in PERFECT condition. If you are interested, send me a private message and I will give you the contact information of the owner and you can talk directly with them. I think you can save some money by dealing directly with an owner rather than a realtor, but of course, that is totally up to you.

I have rented from 4rent in villages and another site. One thing I have done before sending any money, is to go to intellus it costs about 20. But you find out if the person really does own the house. So I don't get there and don't have a rental. Just a little precausion that I do.

We are on the other side of the coin - we rent our place, first through the Villages, (so, so), then through a small private company, (better), and now through www.thevillagesforrentbyowner.com (the Best!).

This company, JD Management, is the friendliest, most professional, most flexible to deal with. Our tenants love them!

(hint: our place is a cyv on Rainwood).
