Did you try moving the antenna?

How are you getting the signal, Comcast has a LOT of buffering issues across a few stations, ION is the worst.

Don’t have a problem with ABC WFTV using Spectrum.

Over the past couple of days, we have seen a fair amount of buffering with Xfinity. I thought it was just one station but then I did a channel sweep and found it was on all that I tuned into. I checked our internet speed, and it was running around 500mbps so that was not an issue.

The buffering that sometimes last up to 20 minutes on all the local channels has about reached my patience limit. It seems much worse from about 4 to 7 PM. The cable channels are not effected.
I am considering dumping Comcast/Xfinity and going somewhere else. Are others experiencing the same issue?

I'm glad to hear that others are having buffering/freezing issues with X-Finity, as we are too. Hopefully they will address it soon.

One possible reason for Xfinity having this issue is they might not have enough server capacity because in order to give out all those cheap internet prices they oversell their network meaning they over allocate their shared system which can lead to to buffering at peak times. If you have Spectrum or Quantum fiber or Verizon or T-Mobile fixed wireless services you can explore those options.

If you have the Xfinity Internet service and cable TV, you can use the Xfinity Stream app via wifi to watch the TV channels. I would be interested to find out if both methods for watching TV have the same buffering issue. If so, it would seem to me that the problem is with the station, not Xfinity. Don't know where you live, but consider putting up an antenna. Mine is in the attic, I get all of the networks, plus about 25 others. No buffering.
Oh, and did I mention, that once you buy/put up the antenna it's FREE?! |
