Default Hiding Gas Furnace in Laundry Room Cheaply

I would like to hide my gas furnace in the Laundry Room. I was thinking of hanging a shower curtain in front of it, but thought this might be unsafe. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Our neighbor built an enclosure for ours. Looks like it has been there since the home was built. The entrance to it, for servicing and to get to the filter, are lightweight open slat shutters that lift out. PM if you are interested in the person who did it.

Some sort of room divider would be practical since it would permit easy access to the unit if that were ever necessary. You might be able to pick one up at a reasonable cost at a yard/garage sale. Or you might contact the villages woodshop and find out if one of the members there could make one for you at a reasonable price.

Not sure, but adequate air flow might be a consideration for your gas furnace

I would hesitate to do this if you have a gas dryer. If you have an appropriate service man do the work they should be able to tell you.

A folding room divider works great. Not sure where to get one now, but easy to take down for service. Have electric and would worry about gas ??

How about a trellis, cut to the correct size. You could hang things on it, like hats..... It would be easy to take down if needed and would let the furnace get lots of air, still.

Whatever you do, do not restrict airflow, as this could cause some very nasty problems.

You have to remember that any gas appliance needs air flow for combustion gases or you'll cause an unsafe condition.

My friend bought a pre-owned home and the gas furnace was enclosed with lattice; I think it has hinges on the outside corner for access.

My neighbor's cousin's dog had puppies. One of the people that bought a puppy said they had their furnace enclosed with...

Seriously; sometimes it is like groundhog day in these threads, how many people in a row are going to tell the OP to make sure the enclosure is vented?
