what the heck??? my front door is loaded with lovebugs...nothing around the garage doors or anywhere else...does anyone know WHAT attracts THEM????
how do i get them off my porch????? i tried the soap and water and that worked fine ..for the flying around guys...but then here comes another 20!!! what can i do...is it something on the patio???? |

grin and bear it - just don't open your mouth. there is nothing you can do - they will leave in a few weeks and all will be well - at least till September when they return.

Having these things around makes me think that maybe going north during lovebug season is more important than going for the summer months. Maybe we have it all wrong on the best time to head north, we can be lovebugbirds of the north.

Very light colors but particularly the color white attracts them like crazy . . . your house, your car, whatever. Also, the aromatic hydrocarbons such as gasoline have a strong attraction as well. Just drive a white car into a gas station and start filing up and you'll get the idea. And good luck trying to get back in tour car without bringing a few of them with you. And when you squish them, they create a mess and they stink. |
