I signed up, easy. Now I just give them my phone # and I get the discount, on line purchases too.

The downside is that every time I now make a purchase, they send me a thank you email and want a rating. I am looking to see how to turn that "feature" off.

10% is nothing. If Lowes will not accept a veteran without going through a progress, a card, and tracking, then screw them. We vets should be able to prove with a VA card or military ID. Everything else is tracking purchases. Personally I don't need the discount but for the people who do... they are being taken advantage of. Social profiling.

I just flash my blue retiree card when I check out no problem-I hardly use Lowes as I prefer the Home Depot--much more knowledgeable staff--get the same discount @ HD

I have a my lowes card, but it's 3 years old. Hmmm, maybe I will check if it will give me the Vet discount. I just might have to renew the card if it don't. I'm a VET from the Army> 69-70.

Thanks for the Info.

No, just a store affinity card.

Take your My Lowes card and your DD214 to customer service counter. They will add the Vet discount to your present My Lowes Card

As stated earlier, Lowes will also accept your VA card or military ID. The tracking card is not required.

As for "needing" a discount - that is up to you but I like to save money when possible.

I went to visit my daughter recently who bought a new home. We used my VA card at Lowes to buy a washer and dryer. 10% discount on top of big discount for being floor models. Saved her lots of money on that!

With this new card, you can get the Veterans Discount on-line and at the self checkout in the store, something the old program did not support.

It took me less than 5 minutes to set it up, and I was able to order a dishwasher on-line and get the discount right away. You can get a MyLowes card in the mail, but you can also access the discount with your phone number.
I just bought a sink, garbage disposal and a faucet at Lowes. They accepted my VA medical picture ID for the discount. Although my card says 'service connected, it doesn't matter as far as the discount.

What about the veteran status imprinted on my Florida drivers license. Will Lowe's accept that ? Florida only gives you that with proof of an honorable discharge.

Ok, shopped at Lowe's yesterday. They do accept the drivers license veteran designation. 10% to me [emoji3]

Hey, i just shopped at Lowes yesterday and despite having the MyLowes card linked to my Lowes credit card in order to get the 10% Veterans discount, it turns out that if You use self checkout you do NOT get the Veterans discount. Why? The person monitoring self checkout said that's just the way it is and I should go to customer service. Customer service had 5 people waiting in line not being helped, so I left. Lesson Learned!

No problem showing my va card to the checker. No need to get bent out of shape.

They will also take your drivers license if it has a veteran designation.
