Understand complaining about a lack of a square south of 44 at this point but upset they keep building is silly.
Good response to the "we were promised". And, I truly doubt that it is "the truth". But even if it was "promised" by someone, that in no way obligates the business to shut down. How did people believe this?

I could answer this but someone in authority around here would not like my answer.

Could you please express your thoughts in clear English?

This "progress" that we are seeing here is just not keeping up with the influx of our population. The squares are not going to be as welcoming with the throngs of people all over the place. Eastport, hopefully, will take some of the stress of the three current squares.

Who made these "promises"? Anybody get anything in writing?
Of course not. Nothing in writing but I tend to believe a salesperson when I'm told "build out will be in about two years and will stop at 466A". See how that worked out.

Were we gullible to believe it? Making a big decision such as purchasing a home, one should receive accurate information. I guess hubby and I were too trusting of the information we received and we are from New York originally.

The sentiments are clear enough for me.

The salesperson said this as this is what he was told to say. Doubt the developer told too many people what they were planning on doing down the road

Weren't people complaining that Spanish Springs was turning into a "Ghost Town" just a few short months ago?

"I tend to believe a salesperson"... That was your first mistake...

We stay in touch with the sales rep that sold us our two homes in The Villages. That information we received was before the new generation took over the empire. The information we were given at the time was truthful.

You seem to be suggesting that the business was going to shut down until the grandkids took over and decided to keep it in operation. That does not seem reasonable.

No problem. If you don't approve of the building south of 466A, then pretend it is not there.

At one point they decided that they would stop expanding the empire.

Than they looked at their profit and loss for new development and the lightbulb went on.

As long as new construction remains profitable why would they stop?
