My wife and I just bought a place in the villages and are wondering who is a reputable underwriter for homeowners insurance. Thanks

I am very happy with AAA and Kerriann Varney 352-753-2500 ext. 2257. She is very attentive, knowledgable, and thorough. She now handles my auto and home policies.

We just bought new construction and got our homeowners from Sumter Marion insurance. Our agent is Karyn Halstead. She was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of coverage as well as availability of sinkhole coverage for new construction. She was so pleasant to deal with. Her number is 352-751-6560

I called AAA spoke with Naomi. She's putting together a quote that will include sinkhole.

I also just bought a new construction and went with the villages ins.(Sumter Marion ins.) We called a few different companies and because we will be renting our place hopefully long term some companies wouldn't do it. We spoke with a Susan Bell and we got a great quote/sinkhole ins. The policy is underwritten by Ark Royal Ins. I also heard American Integrity Ins, through this same company(the villages ins.) is also good. Susan researched and got us her best quote. The # is 352 753 7755

Watch the deductible on sinkhole.

With AIS thru AAA, we had $500 for 6 years and this year it was changed to 10% of home value (the first 10%).

I agree.

Switched and combined our HO and Auto insurance with Kerriann.

Just make certain you know specifically what kind of sinkhole coverage you are getting. ALL policies in Florida must offer "Catestrophic" sinkhole coverage and the premium and deductible are very reasonable. THis insurance kicks in when your house or portions of it, are swallowed by a hole in the ground and your house is declared unsafe or unfit to live in by a county government official.

Its the "Gradual Sinkhole" coverage which is most expensive with a 10% deductible, if you can even get this insurance.....that is where cracks in foundations or walls occur due to "sinkhole activity".

There has been alot of discussion about the different types of sinkhole insurance coverage on TOTV.
