I wonder what the policy is regarding swimming in the sports pools. If you are swimming in a lane and keeping your social distance is it necessary to wear a mask. I suppose you could swim if you keep your head above water but it would be difficult to breathe if the mask is wet.

Some people are just so hateful they find fault with everything.

I don't swim with my head above the water when doing the Freestyle stroke. Wearing a mask in the water would cause me to drown. NOPE.....not going to wear a mask while swimming. If it is mandated to wear a mask while in the water, I will not be swimming laps in the sports pools. Honestly, the thought of requiring a mask when swimming is absurd.

OMG I would like to think that when I am going to the pool that I'm not being critiqued by fellow villagers. Can we all just go, relax and not have to read about your experience. Who cares???

I went to two pools Spanish Moss and Everglades. I was told the same thing at both pools, masks are required to enter the pool area once ready to go in the pool the mask can be removed six-foot distance, one person per lane lap swimming, you must have your Villages ID, walking around the pool is in a single direction indicated with arrows, one-hour time limit if there is someone waiting. It was very organized and went well.

If you don't care, why did you click on this thread? Don't say, "the devil made me do it". LOL.

I care. I would like to know how the guidelines are being put into effect. I'd like to know how many people are actually adhering to the guidelines.

Unless you were at a Sports Pool there is no swimming at the other pools. That is why he told you water walking only no swimming. Sports Pools have designated areas for swimmers the rest if the pool for walkers. I'm surprised he did not explain that to you. But you still enjoyed the pool. Unfortunately live bugs are not subject to social distancing. LOL)

they aren't going to open it up yet. it's just a handful of them, looks like mostly family pools. closest 1 to us would be either cattail or fenney.

That's right, i forgot. Golfers are immune to covid19. It's the tennis and pickleball players that are the carriers.

Best decision we ever made, buy a house with a pool. We've been enjoying it every day.

I thought so. I was told differently by another poster however, that people can swim in pools that are not sports pools.
