Hello,
I am heading from The Villages to Marion Market. What is a good restaurant along that strip? I know about Billy's but any others? Thank you.

Six minutes south of Marion Market you'll find Little Joey's Italian Restaurant. We've been there twice and enjoyed it both times. Friends of ours did too and they've been there several times! Seems pretty popular judging by the diners when we went there! This Google map will show you where it is in relationship to the market!

Don't miss Jitterz!! Great place, excellent food, versatile menu. It's a short distance past Market of Marion on the right side in Alemeida Plaza... That's just before the Baseline Rd exit before you go over the bridge into Belleview.

Welcome to TOTV. Market of Marion is a huge covered flea market that sells everything from sunglasses to veggies to golf carts. It's open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays this time of year (closed Fridays during the summer). Plan on spending several hours if you want to see everything. It's about a 20 minute drive up 441. Here's the web site: http://www.themarketofmarion.com/

For the newbies...you can get some great bargains at the market. Produce is one thing and nursery items. It's just a fun place to go...weekends only though as that's the only time it's open. Another fun market is in Webster on Mondays. HUGE!!! The Grower's Market in Wildwood on Saturdays too. Actually there are many flea markets in this area if that's your schtick!!

It's much more than a flea market, although it has that too. It's dozens of small business people running their business in small to large sections of this huge place. You can find fresh fruits and veggies from numerous vendors in one wing, and in others everything from hardware sellers, kitchen items, used books, clothing and fabrics, jewelry, sporting goods, wall art, home improvement businesses, and even pet supplies and puppies and much more. Check out their website.

About 10 minutes north of Spanish Springs Golf Cart Bridge on West side of 441 just past the light at the new connector to I-75.

Taverna Red also has a great menu and very good food. It is in the same plaza as Little Joey's above. Don't think you'll be disappointed.

Just so happens that my wife and I went there today for the first time. We bought decals that you can put on your sliding doors, mirrors or windows that look like etchings. Just wet glass and apply. No glue involved.

Also got one of those flags that people put in their front lawns and allow you to change the flag as you wish. Got a Yorkie one. Same for one of the decals we bought.

Joey's was the first italian restuarant I ate in years before we moved to TV last year. Not as good as good places in NYC but good for Florida.
