Wonder how we could get the extra stuff we may have brought and don't need to the flood victims who have lost a lot of furniture......just musing.

First step is finding transportation.

One of the most difficult things right now is logistics, specifically trucking. Right now FEMA is paying truckers three to four times the normal going rate to get things into Texas.

This is greatly impacting logistics all over the country. Manufacturers are struggling to get trucks to delivery their regular production.

I don't expect shelves to be empty, but retailers and manufacturers are struggling if they don't have their own private fleet.

I would think that the cost of shipping used furniture
would be more than its value.

I don't have the furniture but this forum has been filled with people who more recently moved here and lots of things they brought they don't need. I think NOW may not be the time but maybe in a month or so when things are settled down, someone might think of something we could do to help in this area.

They have homes. Wet homes and damaged beyond repair furniture. Just thinking about what would happen to us if we got the flooding from Irma.

Furniture is probably what 75% of all these storage units in this area are filled with. We got rid of all excess of everything prior to moving here.

Please only send requested items or money. Donating things you no longer want only adds to the problem and in the long run cost more to ship and store than its value.

Thats exactly what I said.....sell it here and donate the profits.....

I think now and later.....cash always works better than figuring out a way to fund and transport your unneeded furniture.

O.K. FINE.

I was just thinking how expensive it would be to refurnish a whole home. Just thinking how it might help to have a donated table and chairs until the walls got put back in place.

I don't have anything to sell. Our kids can throw our stuff out when we move to the Village of Heavenly.

We sure do like to argue and I can include myself in that too.

YES. I woke up with a headache.

And I don't drink.

Didn't seem like arguing, it seemed to me, that people
were just sharing their thoughts and opinions.
