Used Sunoco 260
out of the pump for a couple of my cars in the late 60's. Gasoline of choice for high performance then.

Any thoughts on using 90 octane rec gas in a vehicle? I'm not reading anything that says you can't/it's bad. And I like the idea of running ethanol-free gas in my 2001 Z28, which suggests at least mid-grade.

The Google:

Can recreational fuel be used in cars?
REC-90 is an ethanol-free, 90 octane unleaded gasoline blend designed for use in recreational/marine engines which can be damaged by the ethanol found in other gasoline blends. It is also usable in some aviation engines [1] and automotive engines, though it has not been thoroughly tested for cars and trucks.

Yup. That's what I've read. Just wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with it long term.

Probably not going to find a long-term user........until recently, there have been alternatives at the pump.

Circle K does offer a high octane (93 or 94), non-rec, fuel without ethanol.

Got 400k highway miles on my Acura Integra that I used for many years to commute to work. Current truck is approaching 200K. Definitely care about longevity.

I once saw a used car dealer ad that said,

"Drive a used car, everyone does."

Actually, they are both at an intersection (with left turn lights), with a 2nd light only a few hundred feet down the road...

A U turn would be quite easy. I just figured, with the amount of traffic, they want to capture the rush hour traffic heading south into DC in the am and north out of DC in the pm...

Humble brag much?

My Hyundai Genesis is coming up on 12 years old, 150K miles. It runs like a top, is extremely comfortable and I see no reason to replace it.

My wife last traded in her 10 year old Acura MDX (only 88K miles). But she wanted some of the new safety features being offered and since she puts up with me, she deserves it...
