Default March CRISPERS event!

I just read in the Villages magazine that the big St. Patrick's parade will be March 16 which would have been our March Crispers get together! Shall we change the date or just postpone til April? As volunteer host I need to know how to plan.

It says 4 pm Gracie. Might be cutting it a little close to do Crispers at 3. What do you think?

Good point Wendy. Since it is mostly newbies who attend the Crispers Luncheons, there may be a lot of peeps who haven't seen the St. Pat's Parade yet, and might want to take it in. On the other hand, there are probably people who've been looking forward to the Crispers Luncheon (I'm thinking of people like Lightworker who just arrived in TV). You could have the lunch, and be satisfied if there is a small turnout.

How about the 23rd? I won't be here in April.

Or, have the luncheon earlier... Like 12:30 or 1:00? That would give folks time to get to the squares for the parade and festivities.

I think Crispers could handle the crowd, especially if we were out on the patio.

Sometimes Crispers gets really busy in Snowbird Season. I was there last week at 12:30 PM and it was packed. If there are other people having lunch on the patio, it would be difficult to "claim the patio as a TOTV meeting place" so that everyone could be introduced. I remember back in 2007 when we first started having the luncheons, I spoke with the Crispers manager. He suggested 3 PM as a time when we could have the patio to ourselves and have a "meeting" of sorts. April 23 may be a good solution.

Do y'all think we could get the word out to everyone about changing it to the 23rd or maybe Thursday the 15th?

It is may just be better to keep it the same...all things considered. It is really for the new ones, but if they had a chance to say hello that would be good. Some of the folks living here for awhile won't go to the St. Patrick's day parade because they have already done that, several times, ....UNLESS their last name is Flanagan or O'Reilly or Kelly or something like that, I think it is a venial sin if they would miss it .

We don't go to the parades anymore after almost four years. But some go to all of them every year.

You are the hostess, Wendy...you make the decision. It is nice of you taking it on this month.

I really liked it so would hate to see it cancelled...I agree with Barefoot tho' that 3pm would be the best so we can have the patio all to ourselves.
(first timer) but what ever you decide, thanks for doing it.

Default Would love to get together at some point in the month.

I think that it would be good to keep the momentum moving and for those who want to go to the square, they can leave a little early if they want. I don't know how many get there right at 4 and we aren't into large crowds so anytime will work for me. Looking forward to meeting newbies and oldies.

Several years ago our monthly gathering fell on Good Friday. We elected to still have the meeting then for the sake of consistency with those who couldn't be there just not coming. As I remember we still had a good crowd. My vote would be to keep the same time and date.
