Default Mark Twain library

We love this place, but found a notice on the door last week that it was shut. According to the Daily Rag the whole Paradise rec center is being revamped and won't open until Spring 2027.

Do you know if the Mark Twain library has a temporary new location?

Thank you

I had wanted to donate books to the Mark Twain Library at some time in the future and hope they are up and running then.

I use it mainly for borrowing and donating magazines, but I also have several books "ready to go"

Another Villages branch of the Sumter Public Library is located at the gold dome at 466a and Powell Road.

And did you know you can borrow canoes from the library.

I love that library and I have found the people there very friendly.

I used to volunteer at Palm Harbor and East Lake Community Library in Palm Harbor in 2000-2003. Really enjoyed going to the Tarpon Springs Public Library though.

I do have a Master's in Librarianship and Information Management from the University of Denver. Class of May 1984. Worked three jobs at one time while studying and also socialized a lot. I found librarians fun. At least, public librarians. I also did a paid work study Fall Semester at the Minneapolis Public Library in 1987 in their History and Travel Department while attending the U of MN Law School. I had to drop the public library job as the U of Minnesota Law Library had a spot open up mainly due to a friend pulling some strings for me. I think she still may be looking out for me but who knows.

I did really miss the people at the Minneapolis Public Library though while at the University of Minnesota Law Library. Unfortunately the Summer law librarian country wide annual convention was in Reno, Nevada that Summer of 1989. Did a number on me. 224 to be exact . I had just graduated a few weeks before from the U of Minnesota Law School. Lots of memories came back while I was there that week or so. Ran into two of my University of Nevada, Reno Philosophy Professors . One who was coming out of a movie theater where I had gone to see the 3rd Indiana Jones movie. Also ran into some of the people I knew from when I worked at Information Access Company in Belmont, CA from Fall of 1984 to mid-Summer of 1986. They supplied many different products to different kinds of libraries in the United States.
