Has anyone been diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma (or sometimes just neuroma) and had surgery to correct the issue?

If so, who was your Dr.? And did the surgery correct the problem successfully?

My wife had bone spurs when to Dr. Shannon Floyd couple time she was very satisfied with her. Dr. Floyd in southern trace plaza just off 466 up 101 in Lange eye institute building. I’ve got metatarsalgia starting on ball of my foot I’m nursing, may have to to her I’m future if don’t get any better?

Thanks for your reply. I am a patient of her practice, and see her partner Dr. Mason. Would definitely use them for the surgery.

How long did injections work? Usually injections are the standard before surgery is considered.

I've had many patients who were pain free after 2-3 injections and properly fitted orthotics...

I had an injection and it lasted 3-4 months. Maybe just need another ... I do wear orthotics and with the first injection, I was able to play PB for hours without any pain. I can only play for an hour now, and then I have to stop. Maybe it is just a matter of another injection.

The reason I am considering surgery ... I feel like hey ... if the nerve causing the pain could simply be taken out of the equation, that's a lasting solution. "Simply" is of course a relative term.

I have had 3 different neuromas remove from my left foot. They were done by 2 different highly rated surgeons, in Michigan. None of them worked and they don’t know why. If you’re not familiar with the term “stump neuroma” it would be wise to look it up. I believe that my surgery’s were unsuccessful because scar tissue is causing inflammation, they grew back within a year or they are stump neuromas that were missed (my last surgery was to remove a stump neuroma). Of course, my results may not be yours, and I don’t mean to discourage you from having yours removed…. just conveying my experience.

I’ve been treating Morton’s Neurona for over a year. I first got a shot that seemed to relieve the feeling of inflammation. Dr. Everhardt at TriCounty Podiatry across from Colony Plaza treated me. I have stretching exercises to do and I wear a pad in my shoe. It seems to be coming back, so I might have to see her again.

I had neuroma surgery on both feet 15 yrs. ago. The procedure is to cut the nerves involved, but no this the involved toes will be numb. forever. But no more pain.

I've had a Morton Neuroma on the ball of my left foot for 15 years. I'm a runner so my feet are very important to me. My podiatrist in Orlando is also a runner and he did not want me to have surgery. It is operating on nerves which will always have complications. He had me to physical therapy and wear shoes with a wide toe box. It has worked. I have run several marathons with the least of my issues being my feet. Downside is I can't go barefoot, I always have to wear shoes.

Interestingly enough, I am most comfortable barefoot, in Crocs or OOFOS shoes. Unfortunately, I cannot run, walk or play Pickleball in any of those.

I had this surgery years ago and yes it fixed the problem. Can’t recommend bc it was in a diff state

Three years ago I had the surgery in another state. While it fixed the problem, I now have a numb area where they removed the nerve. I find it pretty annoying, but at least it isn't painful.
