How cold is it? Here are a couple of links to weather stations within TV and if you scroll down you can get a temperature reading every 5 minutes. If you really want some history just change the date at the top of the web page and click on view to get the information on that date. Scroll down and you can see what a difference a year makes.

I was playing around with the weather underground site yesterday. I found it interesting that at this point last year (which old timers say was the coldest in decades) that we were enjoying highs in the 70s and 80s and didn't hit freezing weather until about the 21st of January. Now, we will have had sub-freezing weather predictions for 6 out of 7 days into this weekend and will not hit 70 through a week from Wednesday which is as far as they are predicting.
I have our hibiscus all bundled up with Christmas lights for heat hoping they make it through this mess. |

Thanks for the sites, Hawkwind! Here I sit in frigid NJ fretting over whether the house will stay warm enough at nite from the day's 'warming' so that the water in the toilet bowls won't freeze! And all I thought I would hafta be worried about was whether the air conditioning was set so as to cool enuf in the heat of the summer!!! Oh well - the good news is that I can face whatever there is to face two weeks from today! Wonder if I should pack our snow shovel!!!!
