I see it as a huge problem. Most men do not want to use the women's room. Unless it is designated as unisex, the men's room should be reserved for men only, and women should not expect to use it. How do you know what or who is inside the women's room unless you go in?

Honestly, I do not underand why this is an issue. If it is a single occupancy room why would you care?

Saying this three times on this thread doesn't make it more acceptable to me.

My question is why is it unacceptable? If you are at a party at a neighbor's home everyone uses the same bathroom.

I've been in there many times and would to want to sit on the seat in the men's room, she probably regrets her decision.

There aren't urinals at the neighbors house.

It's unacceptable because the restaurant has designated separate restrooms for men and women. It would be fine if the restrooms were designated as "unisex" like some restaurants do. No problem there. But, a lot of men would be reluctant to enter a women's restroom because they could become the subject of a lawsuit or worse. But, apparently some women seem to think that they can use either restroom regardless of the sign on the door. Personally, I would have told the woman at Five Guys that she could only use the men's restroom when I was finished. I think the OP was being too polite.

I think they should make all single bathrooms unisex. The urinals do not matter. How many peoples have urinals in their home bathrooms?

I agree, but I have not seen any unisex restrooms in The Villages.

The time has come for them to be Unisex if it is a single room with a locking door.

Apples and oranges. Commercial toilets and urinals are designed differently from home toilets because they need to be concerned about frequent clogging. That is why they use urinals and toilets with high pressure flush valves instead of flush tanks. Also urinals save space. And, if more places would install waterless urinals, they could save a lot of water.
