Nothing lost if you don't like the place. Been 'birding here for 20+ years, after trying other over 55+ communities. IMHO TV is by far the best, and the few negatives are far outweighed by the positives. |

Moved here 10 years ago. I was 53 wife was 57. Surpassed our expectations. You will not be bored unless you want to be. Got into pickleball which is awesome. Hardest part was leaving the grandchildren but we are still here. Guess it’s not that hard.

We know of several couples who have moved here but the wife didn't like being away from her family, so they left and moved back to where they had come from. In our case, our grandchildren were teenagers and we were not as involved in their lives as when they were younger, so it was easier to leave them behind and move to Florida. We have been here four years and love it. We feel like teenagers ourselves. Good luck making the right decision for you. |

If you are bored in The Villages it is of your own doing. You have enough opportunity to do fun things, volunteer opportunities are many. You will have the time to travel the world. So don't hesitate to move. We have been here 22 plus years. Have seen it grow but enjoy all that the growth has given. So come enjoy you will not regret it.

You cannot be bored in the Villages. So many things to do. On the negative side of things, the villages has become a hot bed for politics. If you are a republican you will fit right in. You can fly your trump flags and ride around in your painted golf carts.
And of course, traffic. It is bad now but it will get worse. |

I will say you can take 3 classes a day, play 2 rounds of golf, but you still have 16 hours left in the day. You will find those in lates 60s and up, do not have a problem with boredom. If you are are extremely active, yes there are more hours in the day than activity’s to fill your day.
If your wife is coming to make you happy think twice. Rent a home for a year, so you can be here for over flowing winter congestion, summer when it’s blazing hot. May save your marriage if you do |

Mental Reservations
A big personal decision for sure. Nobody talked about the people. When you reach the golden years you want to be around people that are approximately - give or take - the same age. Similar interests and struggles. Gen X or Y or Z or whatever wont give you the time of day because of age discrimination. When you are surrounded by people of your age group it is easier to relate and develop relationships. I am not an owner at TV but am very interested and have read quite a bit and viewed countless videos. I understand TV have softball. If you lived elsewhere and tried to compete with a city or county team it would be difficult to keep up with the young athletes of 30 - 55! My point in this rambling is to not forget to consider the peer groups in TV.
