Default Retired Air Force Nurse Corps

Great idea especailly for us new folks(moving in to a CYV end of Jan) to maybe reconnect with fellow service members or at least letting the military population know who's out there.

Drafted 1972 and trained as an Operating Room Technician
Went Bootstrap for a Bachelor's in Nursing and started off as an Operating Room nurse. Ended with a flight nurse assignment, teaching at the FLight Nurse course at Brooks AFB, then running operating rooms, and eventually a Flight and Squadron Commander of medical facilites before retiring after 26 years in 2000.

I agree that everyone should serve, but not everybody can. I tried to enlist in both the Air Force and the Army but couldn't pass the physical for multiple reasons. Even the draft would not approve me. Dispite not serving I'm proud that I at least tried.

It would have been nice and I would have loved it if they had a program or special classification for those to serve in a capacity that befitted their physical limitations that otherwise disqualified them. To all of you who did serve, my whole-hearted thank you and gratitude!

Wonder if we crossed paths. I was AF Medical Logistics from 1971-2001.
