I had exact same problem and never received my package. Somebody signed for it and I have no idea where it is.

I give my “contracted “ postal carrier a Christmas bonus every year. I get pretty good treatment throughout the year

You are absolutely correct. We have the same problem at least 2-3 times per week.

You are fortunate to not have to depend on sending and receiving any correspondence via the USPS. Say for example -if your mobile phone communication capabilities were sporadic - for example - some times your calls (despite being properly entered) were directed to a totally different recipient than intended.... maybe you occasionally receive calls from someone who had no intention of calling you - but the number they dialed resulted in your phone ringing..... and these things consistently happen a few times each and every month ..... you’d just sit back and say ..... “hey, enjoy the journey, relax......”? Probably not.

The USPS is not perfect, never has been, never will be. I assume the OP is old and should know this. Five, six, ten packages in a month is not huge.....but if it is huge to the oldie, I think he/she could figure out what to do.....talk to the carrier (who is there a couple hours a day), go to the local post office and ask for help, contact the PMG. Thanks for your concern about my cell phone. ![]()

You're dealing with a 'monopoly' that does not have to provide any level of service to stay in business. I doubt you will get very far with any complaints you may bring. I would suggest you make every attempt to get another type of delivery service for everything that you can. Make sure things are shipped to you via UPS or FEDEX instead of USPS. However, when it comes to regular mail pieces you are at their mercy. No one else can deliver 1st class mail pieces. Keep track of things and complain to the 'Shipper' of the items that do not get delivered properly. Those who live in the new areas where the growth is rapid will probably experience more issues as they try to absorb the overwhelming number of new customers they have from that level of growth.
Remember that the LadyLake Post office probably has many thousands of customers who they are not going to loose no matter how badly they perform. Knowing that, you should realize that your complaints probably won't get very much attention. |

We had the same problem when we moved here a year ago and the USPS actually lost some items of mail and returned some to the sender. I have the daily email notification of scanned mail items so I knew what should have been delivered. I went to the Lady Lake post office to file several reports with the supervisor and received negative attitudes and poor responses each time. I also mailed 4 packages from the satellite office back in February and one package shows “in transit” for 6 weeks before it was ever delivered. Things have improved some, but there are still problems from time to time. The USPS is definitely not what it used to be.

After my father died I had a terrible time with his mail. It was being held, but no one at the boxes knew where or could find it. Going to the PO could not help either. The problem was with the contract carrier. I am from NY so I had no idea that someone outside of the postal service could be responsible for US mail.

Thank DeJoy, he has ruined the postal service. Mail is piled up in the post office because he does not want overtime and wants the service to be privatized. Postal service is a service and not a profit center. It was created by the gov as a service to the people. It is self sufficient and not supplemented by the gov and the only thing that ever put them in debt was the idiots in congress who made them pre pay retirement for their people for 70 years ahead which no other gov agency has to do. You are being serviced by contractors not postal employees and the PMG wants it to fail. By the way, he is in a private business that wants to take over the service. The fox is running the house and will eat all the chickens.

Doubt all you want to the Post office has an excellent record of providing excellent service and being responsive to customer complaints. The post office successfully delivers over 175 million pieces of mail daily - every day all year long. Delivering that many items daily there will be some mistakes. A common theme in complaints about misdeliveries is the recent change of address. And another common theme is that simply talking to the postal worker typically results in solving the problem. And I wonder, could there have been any "recent" changes to the post office management that might have resulted in a reduction in service? Hmmm... |
