But the political process we are going through now (as painful as it is at times) is an attempt at fixing some of the problems you mentioned that we are all very well aware of. But I think you answered your own question. Poor student rankings in math and science, vanishing middle class, tax inequities, world hunger and poverty.........trying to fix these problems are exactly the reasons that good people would want to be President.
The Florida legislature has the solution for this, cut education spending every year!

I do not think low scores in math, science are of a major concern. We still rank up there.Remember, If a child wants to learn he will learn.

Unfortunately we are 25th in math and 21st in science out of 30 industrialized countries. 68% of 8th graders can't read at grade level, 1.2 million students dropping out every year, and 44% of dropouts under 24 are jobless. These "reality tv " students are the future, and for us still in the real world, that's not a good sign.I realize once many of us move into "the bubble" a pollyanna mentality is possible, and that's not all bad.Except, when you actually believe that the politicians in Washington are really working for our benefit and care what we think. They have the lowest approval ratings in history, and there is a reason why they are soooooooooooo low. These problems can't be readily fixed and that's why good people don't run for office anymore, they don't want to deal with all the political gridlock. Just throw them all out and start from scratch, how could it possibly get any worse????????By the way, whenever i use a curse word i use the first and last letter with symbols in between, and not all symbols.

What universe are you in where low scores in math and science are not a major concern???? We are no longer "right up there." And a child wanting to learn does not magically result in the ability to solve radical equations.....

I kept checking the thread for comments about Mitt's visit. You're right about off track! Oh well, it's old news now that he has won Florida.

Kentucky Blue, nothing you say now or in the future will carry any weight with me after your disgraceful disparaging reference to my country.

Why waste your time here when you could be filling out immigration applications to other countries. Your departure would be your contribution to the improvement of this country.

Boy Howdy!

Let's all regroup and rethink and rephrase. Good night shirt!
