Hi everyone, as a new resident I was wondering is there a time in the morning when people can start working and make enough noise to wake you up. Here it is only 8:11 and someone is pounding away at something for the past hour! Anyone know the rule and who can I call.
Thanks Ed ![]() ![]() Ps I would go to them and ask them to stop, but I don't know the rule, please advise! |

I don't think there are any restrictions.

Construction workers have to start early as it gets very hot quickly.
The construction noise will be gone as the neighborhood is completed. |

Go to the VCDD website and search for noise. In district 6, for example, external noise is prohibited from 10 pm until one hour before daybreak.

Also, in the case of really loud noise, check with your county. Sumter county for instance, has a noise ordinance that limits noise decibel levels within 1,000 feet of a residence. |

Our neighbor always does his yard-work, mowing and trimming, before 7:30. I'm not a "morning" person so this is annoying but not enough to make a fuss over. There was a news article some months ago though, where landscapers were working "in the middle of the night" in one of the villages. I think a stop was put to that.

I get a laugh out of this thread. Every one I know...correction...every male I know wakes at the crack of dawn or earlier.
Every...not every...but most of the women I know wake at the crack of noon. The little woman wakes at the crack of 9... and here I am awake 5 hours earlier. Sorry the OP is distressed at 811...guess the OP didnt have to wake at an early hour to go to work for the past 40 years. |
