Default Morse Blvd Paving Project - What Happened

The Morse Blvd paving project has come to a halt after only about 1/8 completion. Seems no workers have been on site for over two weeks and all paving equipment has been removed. The areas that needed repaving the most are untouched while the Morse Blvd left lane from SR44 to a short distance past Colony Plaza has been repaved over roadway that was in very good condition. What has happened? Why are they not moving ahead while there is less traffic on the roads.

I was wondering the same thing. The project has "stopped and started" quite often over the last couple months. I'm just guessing but it might have something to do with the Pandemic? Oil is so cheap you'd think they'd want to move fast as I think oil is a major part of the mix they use. I'm sure they won't leave it that way but like you said, the worst section of Morse haven't been touched. I'm sure it will be done soon. Once they start they can knock it off very fast.

I don't know about the Non Essential Thing! One of the Hot Spots in Jersey is ing as far as concrete and asphalt work is concerned. I wonder why it wouldn't be the same down here? We are definitely not a Hot Spot like Bergen County in Jersey.

I'm almost certain they will get the job done when possible. They (The Supplier) have more than one job going a a time. The customers who agree to wait may get a better price because they are in no hurry, just their residents are.

Doubt it. It's been going on for months up until about 2 weeks ago.

I was told by our CDD rep that they moved to another project and then will be back to finish. Reasoning was based on virus considerations for the other project, this being a better time to finish that one first.

Maybe they decided not to waste any more taxpayer dollars repaving a road that doesn't need repaving.

The worst part of the road is between 466A and Sumter Landing and that par should have been done first. Most of the part the did was not bad in the first place.

Maybe they went south to build new roads so that more houses could be started.

Or they are getting paid more to do the parking lot at Mallory Country Club .....

Disclaimer: I have no idea, just kidding (sorta).

Still no definitive answer as to why work has stopped.

Please begin calling Sumter County offices to find your answer. I suggest you start with the Public Works Department. Good luck.

The contraption which rips up the old paving was returned to the side of Morse next to Havana golf course this afternoon. Possible indication of work resuming soon, but I am not holding my breath
