Default Easter Lamb Cake

Back in Chicago, having a Lamb Cake for Easter was a must, but I cannot find them here in Florida. Anyone have an source for a Lamb Cake here around The Villages?

Thanks

Lamb cake is a midwestern thing. On German family side, it’s a base vanilla cake with lemon peel baked in lamb 3d pan. Whipped frosting, with coconut embellishment.

Our polish friends bakery same cake, but cream cheese frosting, coconut and popcorn for face.

We have zero bakery’s near TV, except for Miz Cathy’s and a few private at home. not so much about the cake but the mold, mine is over 70 years old with lots of wear, still up north.

You may try Ocala, but have never had Lamb cake mentioned on my southern KY roots, or anywhere in TV, only German and Polish households

Is it made with real lamb? Inquiring minds want to know?

By the way, no Easter meal is complete without fried rabbit.

Real lamb cake. Layer of lamb chops, then covered with vanilla cake frosting, then another layer of lamb chops, then a layer of grape jelly, then a layer of mashed potato, then a topping of whipped cream with green peas or lima beans spread across the top. Bake at 300 for 25 minutes. Mmmm good, mama always treated us to this special holiday dish.

My guess is you need a Sheldon Sign with your question, but…..

If you ask my godmother who’s Greek roots go back centuries, there is a lamb cooked or baked in everything
I began to not love Easter so much when the cute baby lamb arrived at their farm, then it disappeared days before Easter.

Mind you I didn’t mind some of our chickens that were mean becoming Sunday dinner or the lamb served at their house any other time, except Easter. It’s funny I looked at all my hand written Greek recipes, no lamb cake recipes.

So guess Midwest German (must have invented 3d pans I have 11 kinds) and Polish families are the recipe winners s far
