Default Shout Out For The Snowbirds!

I know a lot people are not thrilled with the snowbird season but yesterday's paper said retailers recorded a 30% increase in their sales, this season.

I just wanted to say something positive about our snowbirds and how they help TV, by bringing needed revenue, to our businesses.

I'm ready for the dissenting points of views.

And in addition, I have many good friends whom I will miss until they return in the Fall.

I love snowbirds and renters. They are a very big part of why we have what we have in the Villages.
I also love that our stores, restaurants, servers, bartenders, etc. get to make some money !!

Here's your dissenting view. They clog everything, roads, restaurants and golf courses. Let's see how you all feel when there are 4500 or so new homes that will be built in the next year or two. It will be snowbird season all the time.

Ok start bashing.

You will get bashed for sure. Snowbirds or lack of snowbirds - it is what it is.

No bashing here. I totally agree.I seemed to feel it more this year. Others have confirmed those feelings also. Of course always in hushed tones. I fear your prediction of constant snowboard season will come go fruition. Yes you can get too big, over build, and reduce what was once a pleasurable experience. Forgive me Master for my dissent.

I live next to Brownwood in Collier. The traffic seems the same to me all year round. I get tee times easily as a single, once or twice a day. Why don't you move down this end of town? You won't have [as] much to complain about.

Tom - I live south of 466A and I concur. However, I try to avoid going north of 466 in season.
