Default Movers -St. Louis to The Villages

We have closed on our house in The Villages last week and I am having a problem in finding a good moving company. Any one from St. Louis, MO or near.... have any input on on a good moving company. Thank you in advance.

I moved from there last year. Gave away or sold nearly all of our STL furnishings even so, we still filled a Penske truck and both cars (computers, tv's, memorabilia, etc.). I would recommend buying all new furniture down here. After all, you are starting a new adventure. Might as well have new gear.
BTW, welcome to the Villages!

We're from Ofallon, MO and did the same thing. Sold everything except tools, clothes, electronics and kitchen stuff.

By the time you pay a moving company, it may be better to take the loss on your current furniture and buy new.

Do the math...

and Welcome to the Villages

I used Mayflower. Call Hills Van Service out of Ocala and talk with Brenda Carroll. 1-800-868-7577 Ext. 24.

Our belongings arrive last week and nothing was broken or missing. The movers were careful and courteous. Brenda Carroll was extremely helpful in explaining the moving process in detail and I can't say enough good about their service and highly recommend them.

The cost for us $4,025 and we moved from Detroit and did not bring much furniture. Mayflower will send a estimator to your home and give a quote based on weight. Make sure you ask for a guaranteed price. Do not get a binding quote because if your under weight you will not get any money back.

If you have any other questions PM me and we can talk on the phone.

CodyND:
I moved from St. Louis 9-1/2 years ago, so my moving company may not be the same, so I'm inclined to not suggest any one. On the other hand, I would urge you to consider others' suggestions to start over with your furniture, etc. Unless, of course, you have many cherished antiques!
For your future here, please be aware that there is a St. Louis Club that meets every other month or so. Always a catered dinner (BYOB), never more than $15 per person, and always fun entertainment. And, most members also belong to the Central States Club (MO, AR, KS, NE, OK) where there are lively meetings every month except August!
Look forward to meeting you.

Sell as much as you can and use a POD for the balance. You will save time and money
