IF YOU HAVE ACTUALLY USED IT at the AMC12 in Leesburg:
Since you have to reserve seats at that theater how does MoviePass work there? They are not showing as a "pre-rerservable" theater in the app.

I think you would have to be outside the theater within 100’ and use your movie pass #

You do, (it's 100 yards) but there is more to it with that since it is a "reserved seat only" theater which is why I was trying to find someone who actually used it there. Anyway, we went and found out all the details. For anyone interested: #1) Before you even go there (especially if it is a brand newly release film) go online and see if there are seats available. The theaters are relatively small (some bigger than others but even the biggest one has less than 100 seats and the smaller ones around 80. The larger one has only 8 rows!). #2) Assuming seats are available you have to go there and "check in" first with the app as normal within 100 yards or so of theater, #3) After you check in you then have to go to the box off and give them your card THEN you can select a seat assuming they are still available. So if the available seats you saw BEFORE you drove there are not available or the place is sold out you are SOL. If you choose not to go you can cancel the "check-in" and use it for another show or theater but if you don't cancel the check-in you're stuck for 24 hours. Very nice theater but the auditoriums are tiny (80 to less than 100 seats). That being said, for the most part I will stick with the larger theaters at Lake Sumter and Brownwood and avoid Leesburg unless it's an older or less popular movie and there are lots of seats available online before I go there. We wen to see The Post and the 4PM was sold out but we knew that before we left. Just wanted to check out the MoviePass system and the mall. There is a way (against M.P. rules) to purchase tickets for a future show but if they catch you they can drop your membership.

So is Movie Pass legit? So many people say it is going out of business.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I figure people reading this thread would know. Thanks. |

Definitely legit. Worked great (first use) in Brownwood. Like anything else ..... there is some risk (going OOB). Only takes 9 movies to break even (at the $89/yr Costco rate). I think I could beat their bankruptcy with that. ![]()
