Default Moving advice

We are moving ourselves down next week and looked in the phone book under "Movers," specifically for help in unloading the truck. Does anyone out there have fairly recent experience with any particular company? I am going to call a few of them tomorrow to gather info on prices, etc., but any referrals would be helpful.
Thanks,
Tracker

I can't answer your question. I just wanted to say welcome to the Talk of the Villages site and welcome to The Villages! I hope you get an answer from some of the very nice people on this site.

I Used these guys in January 2011. I think it was $30-40/hr for the both of them together. They did good work and didn't damage anything. Nice guys too.

Go to this site

http://www.uhaul.com/MovingHelp/

Put in where you are moving from and to and the dates and it will come up with prospective movers who will help you load and unload. It gives the hourly rate they charge PLUS it gives ratings from people who ahve used these companies

We used The Villages Movers a couple of years ago to move from one home to another. Very careful and professional and reasonable. They work by the hour so I assume they would do a "custom off-load" billing for time and travel.

Jim, do you have a phone number for The Villages Movers?

Sorry, I am in UT right now but I think it might be 352-751-2750.
If you call, ask them if they have the black trucks. If so thats them.

Default Movers One

We used Movers One from Ocala to unload a u-Haul in June. It is a national chain, they are insured and bonded. They charge by the truck size. We had a 26 foot u-Haul truck and we paid $300.00.

Default Movers

Call Caron at Neerlee New furniture. She gave me a card for her nephew that has a moving business. He picked up a bunch of stuff and was very prompt, courteous and professional. I don't have his card handy but her number is 352 315-1000 He seemed very appreciative of the business.

Just used Village Movers this week to unload Pod for us. 2 guys and a flat fee of 185. Great Job and very careful. I was pleased. May need to schedule in advance. I will use them soon to move items from our patio villa to the cottage. Village Movers 352-751-2750

Thumbs up Moving Assistance

Gani Gosine of U-Haul does moves such as yours for about $75.00 per hour for two people and I think it includes use of a truck as well- He is licensed, insured, and very energetic! No dog in this fight - just a suggestion. His number is 352-753-8495.

Good Luck and Welcome to Town!
